Kohima, October 3 (MExN): The School of Engineering & Technology, Nagaland University organised a talk on ‘Indian Navy as a career choice’ in collaboration with Indian Navy at conference hall, School of Engineering & Technology, Nagaland University, (Kohima campus) on October 3.

The talk was organised for final year students of School of Engineering & Technology. The speaker, Captain PS Ravi Kumar highlighted that a maritime nation like India, having a strong and modern Navy is of very high importance.  “As we make more use of the seas, our need for security will also increase. Only a strong and modern Navy can give us the security that we require to make optimum use of our seas,” he stated. 

He informed that aspirants can join in the following branch of Indian Navy: Executive, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Education, Medical. He also discussed that aspirants can join Indian Navy through Agnipath scheme for Seamen, Communication, Electrical, Engineering, Naval Aviation or Logistics branches. He also emphasised that all branches, specializations and cadre are open for women. 

The event was hosted by S Phaoniu. Resource person was welcomed by Dr Imlitoshi Jamir.
