Tata Trusts sponsors training for Livestock Service Providers in Nagaland

Livestock Service Providers attend the training held at ICAR Research Complex for NEH, Nagaland Centre.
 

Medziphema, November 2 (MExN): A total of 19 Livestock Service Providers (LSP) attended the three-day training on ‘Pig Production and Management’ organized by the Northeast Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA) and the Eleutherous Christian Society (ECS) in collaboration with KVK, Dimapur and ICAR Medziphema at ICAR Research Complex for NEH, Nagaland Centre. The training held from October 29-31 was funded by the Tata Trusts.


A press release stated here that Dr. Talimoa Mollier, Dr. Dimunthin Zeliang, Dr. Epibeni Ngullie and Dr. Rajesha G were the resource persons. Technical sessions included training on breeding management, vaccination, deworming, veterinary first aid, symptomatic diagnosis of diseases, better feeding and nutrition practices, care and management of different age group of pig, artificial insemination, health and hygiene, Zoonosis and general extension Education. Practical sessions was also conducted on routine farm operations, AI demonstration, restraining technique, administration of medicine, vaccination, cold storage management, first aid and wound dressing. 


The training ended with a valedictory session by Dr. Lohit K. Baishya, Sr. Scientist (Agronomy) ICAR who emphasized on the critical role played by LSPs in extending animal health services in remote areas. N. Changsang from Longtang village, Tuensang was awarded the best LSP for performing well during the training.
