Kohima, April 10 (MExN): Nagaland CAWD and Taxes, Advisor Kudecho Khamo today said that department of the taxes though considered as one of the smallest department stands as the main backbone of the state government.
Besides all round development programmes of the state government, thousands of employees gets their salaries out of the taxes collected by the department, he cited. Therefore, every employee of the department has a great role to play for the well being of the state, Khamo said while speaking at the felicitation programme at Commissioner of State Taxes Training Hall, Dimapur.
Khamo said that Tax is a new thing for many people in the state, for which, there may be challenges while implementing the taxes laws.
“Therefore, we must create awareness that tax is a must for all round development and every citizen has a responsibility to contribute in as much as they avail the privileges made available for them,” the advisor said.
He sought fullest cooperation and dedication from all the officers and staffs of the department and at the same time invites new ideas and valuable suggestions from all quarters as “we work together as team.”
Further, Khamo expressed profound gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for reposing his faith and given the assignment of CAWD & Taxes.
