Taxation pushing members on brink of poverty: ANTA

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Hq Kohima on Friday strongly condemned the alleged reports of taxation levied on its unit members and reiterated its unflinching support for the ‘One Government, One Tax’ resolution made by ACAUT on October 31, 2013.

In a press release, ANTA Hq Kohima President Dziesevituo Solo and General Secretary Meyieho Hibo stated that taxation, at a time when everyone especially taxi owners and drivers were facing untold hardships, was highly condemnable and warned that such injustice, meted on its members, would not be tolerated.

The Association further appealed to those organisations or individuals collecting taxes from its members to refrain from such activities, as the prolonged lockdown has already pushed its members, who are mostly educated unemployed youth, on the brink of poverty, the release stated.
