Taxis to be colour coded in Kohima

Each colour coded taxi to ply on specific days

Kohima, May 5 (MExN): The Kohima Deputy Commissioner today informed that taxis in Kohima will be color coded and allowed to ply on specific days for each colour.

For instance, pink colour coded taxis will ply on Mondays, blue on Wednesdays, green on Fridays and yellow on Saturdays.

Taxi fares will be at the existing prescribed rate of Rs. 30 per passenger (Point to Point) and Rs. 100 for hire (Point to point).

The taxi will be ply only in the Kohima municipal area (North – IG Stadium, East- BSF Camp, West- Kohima bypass, South- Phesama Gate) and New Secretariat area.

The taxi will be permitted to ply with the condition that they carry not more than two passengers. Both the driver and the passengers should wear mask and use sanitizers at all times, the DC ordered. The taxi should be properly sanitized and disinfected.

Any taxi plying on non-coded days and not abiding by the guidelines shall be penalized as per the provisions of the law and the taxi permit will be cancelled, the DC cautioned.
