
DIMAPUR, JUNE 5 (MExN): The civil society organisations of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) have urged the Government of India to expedite the political process to settle the Naga political issue. Informing this through a press release, the Working Committee (WC), Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) said that it met the Tirap Changlang Longding People’s Forum, Tirap Changlang Longding Women’s Association, Tirap Changlang Longding Students' Federation on June 4.
At the meeting, the TCL leaders expressed satisfaction “on the clearly defined negotiated matters between WC, NNPGs and GoI with regard to status of Nagas of Arunachal Pradesh,” the WC said, while adding that the public leaders also acknowledged “the clarity and transparency on the political and administrative aspects” that is expected to bring about positive transformation in the lives of Nagas and other communities in the three districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
“TCL leaders, in solidarity with the urgent expression of the Naga people everywhere for political settlement, urged the WC, NNPGs to usher in honorable and acceptable political solution to all Nagas at the earliest.” It further said that the TCL delegation urged the GoI to expedite solution on the basis of October 31, 2019 concurrence.
