
TUENSANG, APRIL 19 (MExN): The Tuensang District Football Association (TDFA) formally transitioned to a new leadership team during a handing and taking over ceremony held on Saturday. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the association, which aims to continue promoting football development in the district under the theme “Fraternity Through Football.”
Outgoing president Yangdipi Sangtam, in his address, expressed appreciation for the support received during his tenure. He highlighted the association’s focus on unifying the community through sport and enhancing grassroots football initiatives.
Key positions, including those of president, general secretary, finance secretary, property secretary, and referee board chairman, were formally handed over during the ceremony.
S. Menyawongto, the newly appointed TDFA president, pledged to continue the association’s mission and build on the foundation laid by previous office bearers. “We will continue to uphold the spirit of unity through football, empowering young players and strengthening the district’s football community,” Menyawongto stated.
The programme concluded with a benediction by district coach Mongchua, followed by a dinner attended by association members, advisors, and supporters.
The newly inducted office bearers of the TDFA include S. Menyawongto Chang as President, C. Bendang Sangtam as Vice President, Imli Sangtam as General Secretary, Tochi Chang as Assistant General Secretary, S. Yongkong Chang as Finance Secretary, Lichempi Sangtam as Assistant Finance Secretary, Ngaku Chang as Property Secretary, Moses Lachumong Chang as Press and Information Secretary (Re-elected), Changtola Chang and Vidila Sangtam as Women Coordinators, N. Chuba Chang as Referee Board Chairman as Imlong Chaba District Coach and A. M. Wongto Chang as Treasurer (Re-elected).
The Advisory Committee will continue to include former president Yangdipi Sangtam and former general secretary I. Ngakusomba.
