
Viswema, July 18 (DIPR): Te-l Khukhu festival was celebrated at Tazweokita R. Khel, Viswema on July 17, organised by Rachü Youth Organisation.
Kevihopilcho, GB R. Khel in his short speech said that Te-l Khukhu is a festival of friendship and a time of giving and sharing food. This is the only festival dedicated to girls. He further acknowledged the youth organisation for organizing the festival.
President SAWO, Lekhonuo Leno in her speech said that Te-l Khukhu festival is a sign of showing love and care for girls where rich and poor comes together and share the same food and drinks. She also said that she will take this message to all the Southern Angami area.
During Te-l Khukhu festival, cooked foods are served in ‘Nakhwu’ (type of Peepal) leaf rolled into cone shape and pinned with small bamboos and delicacies like crabs, carpenter worms, eggs, pork are served.
The programme was chaired by Elho Kin. During the festival the winners of the Chokrwu (eaves at the entrance of the house) decoration were also given prizes.
