Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): The Village Education Committee (VEC), Sotokur village and Sotokur Students’ Union (SSU) on Wednesday lamented that two teachers posted to GHS, Sotokur under Tuensang district in October, 2016 are yet to submit their joining reports.
In a representation addressed to the Principal Director, Department of School Education, the chairman of VEC, M. Kiukhum and SSU president Akila stated that the Sotokur Village Council and VEC met the Additional Director & (HoD), Department of School Education in the middle part of 2016 and informed of the non existence of Science and Maths teachers at GHS, Sotokur under DEO, Tuensang.
Accordingly, the department considering the matter and with the approval of the State Government posted one Nukshisenla, G/T (Science), and Bhumvung Phom, G/T (Maths) of GHSS to GHS, Sotokur.
However, the incumbent teachers are yet to submit their joining report to the new place of posting till date and the school is running without Science and Maths teachers, it stated.
In this connection, the representation sought “immediate intervention” of the concerned authority and also appealed for posting “sincere and responsible teachers” to the school at the earliest in the greater interest of the student community.
