Teachers render free tuition to weak students

A peek into Roll of Honour (State Award for Teachers Excellence 2009) speaks volume of dedication, sincerity and immeasurable contribution of teachers, while many had also gone to the extent of providing free coaching classes to weak students. One of the awardees Brojendranath Mahata (M.Sc, B.Ed) helps weaker students by imparting extra coaching classes and by providing free tuition in Maths and Science subjects. A senior graduate teacher of GMS Jakhama, he keeps his quality as an ideal teacher and educates the needy students by providing special tuitions.

S. Imtinaro Longkumer (BA, B.Ed), a graduate teacher of GHS Kiphire meets the individual needs of pupils and conducts special classes in the evenings. Kekoyato Nisa (BA), head teacher of GMS Jotsoma also identified the weak students and organizes free coaching classes. M.K. Jana (B.Sc, B. Ed), a graduate teacher of GHSS Zunheboto is the lone maths teacher and covers from Class V to X regularly. He also gives free coaching classes during the vacations. Another awardee Khrishanu Prasun Bagchi (B.Sc, PCM) from G. Rio Higher Secondary School, Kohima too identified the weak students and extra classes are conducted for them.
