
Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): Primary teacher appointees in Wokha district have sought clarification from the Sub-Divisional Education Officer, Wokha regarding the National Pension System (NPS).
A press statement issued on behalf of “all primary teachers’ appointed in 2102 claimed that while their Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) were generated way back in 2012 and their contribution (employee contribution) for NPS have been deducted from their salary for the past five years, neither employees’ contribution nor the employer’s contribution have been uploaded in the Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA) transaction statement till date.
As of transaction statement received on January 7, 2017, the total contribution the pension account till December 31, 2016 was Rs. 0.00, it said.
“The total value of our contributions as on December 31, 2016 was Rs. 0.00. Thus, our contributions have earned a return of Rs. 0.00 till December 31, 2016, it added.
Why there is still no clarification or action initiated by the concerned DDO–Sub Divisional Education Officer, Wokha, regarding the issue even after a lapse of 5 years, the teachers further questioned.
