Team ABC emerges champions of 1st 3x3 Basketball Tournament

Team ABC emerged as champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories at the 1st 3x3 Basketball Tournament, organized by Team Heist at D Khel Ground, Kohima Village, on June 28.

The two-day event featured a total of 32 teams — 21 in the U-19 Boys category and 11 in the U-23 Girls category — including participants from neighbouring Assam.

In the boys’ final, Team ABC defeated Team SKZ Ballers 21–12 to lift the trophy and claimed a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with certificates. Runner-up SKZ Ballers received Rs 10,000 and certificates.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the boys’ category was Kuozotuo Yietsu of Team ABC, who received Rs 3,000 and a certificate.

In the U-23 Girls category, Team ABC also triumphed, defeating Team All Blacks 14–9 in the final.

The champions received Rs 15,000, a trophy, and certificates, while the runners-up took home Rs 10,000 and certificates.

Rüütuonuo Janice of Team ABC was adjudged MVP in the girls’ category. She received Rs 3,000 and a certificate.

Nourhievinuo Khezhie, wife of Pele Khezhie (President, NCSU and Chairman, D Khel Council), along with other dignitaries, handed over the prizes to the winners.
