Wokha, May 23 (MExN): Team Metamorphosis’ awareness campaign in the institutions for the Operation Clean Wokha has started on May 23 with Mt. Sinai School Wokha.
Thungdemo Kyong, Chief Team Metamorphosis with James Tungoe, Wonchio Odyuo and Mhathung Lotha visited the Mt. Sinai School and presented the concept with a power point presentation. Thungchibemo T Lotha, Deputy Chief of the team and the Headmaster of the school after a brief welcome note and introduction handed over the time to the Team Metamorphosis.
Around three hundred students attended the meeting at the end of which the headmaster challenged all the members present there to a pledge for making ‘Cleanliness our lifestyle’.
Operation Clean Wokha is just a dot in the mega project of Team Metamorphosis ‘Love Earth, Love Life’. Operation Clean Wokha is a mechanism in creating a system for making Wokha town clean and beautiful’.
It is a community focused and community based project. An approach to incorporating in the minds of every individual the sense of responsibility in keeping our town clean, green and healthy, motivating and mobilizing one another in making cleanliness our lifestyle. “It is a system/mechanism for developing change of our mindset/ attitude,” he added.
Targeted activities under this programme are cleaning and maintaining of roads, footpaths, side drains and Culverts, Planting of trees at Mt. Tiyi and within Wokha town, Making pockets for depositing rainwater (underground Water recharge/harvesting) at Mt. Tiyi, Check to ensure proper usage of Electricity and against its thefts, Concerned colony Youth to ensure peace and tranquility in all colonies and Power point presentations to be made by the different colonies and institutions periodically for self motivation as well as mass mobilization.
To encourage the community the Team Metamorphosis has announced rewards which will be given at the end of the year. The rewards are as follows; first prize: Trophy, Cash and Citation: Colonies-20,000/- and Institutions 7,000/-, Second prize: Cash and Citation: Colonies- 10,000/- and Institutions 5,000/- and third prize: Colonies – 5,000/- and Institutions 2,000/-.
