WOKHA, OCTOBER 27 (MExN): Team Metamorphosis conducted a social work at the Pediatric Ward of Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital in Wokha. The team has been actively maintaining this facility since 2019, following an offer from former Medical Superintendent Dr. Tumchobeni.
On this occasion, the team involved five undergraduate students from Mt. Tiyi College, who are currently completing a 37-day internship with Team Metamorphosis. These students chose to work with the organization to gain insight into the operations of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and their community impact.
Team Metamorphosis regularly visits the pediatric ward to perform essential tasks such as cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and repairing non-medical equipment. They have also decorated the ward with child-friendly pictures and posters to create a welcoming atmosphere for young patients.
Earlier this month, two students from Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab, completed an 18-day internship focused on community development with the team. During their time, they contributed by creating vibrant flex posters that enhanced the facility’s appearance.
Thungdemo Kyong, Chief of Team Metamorphosis, emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining the hospital’s facilities. He stated that while the government has provided essential healthcare infrastructure, the public plays a crucial role in supporting hospital staff and contributing to the overall welfare of patients.
Through these efforts, Team Metamorphosis aims to not only improve the hospital environment but also to educate and inspire students about the value of social service and community engagement.
