Wokha, March 21 (MExN): Team Metamorphosis Wokha, in its general meeting on March 17, after a lengthy discussion, unanimously decided to support the SSA teachers who are agitating against the “malpractices of the government.” The organization in a press statement issued by its chief questioned as to how the government can be “so unjust”. “How can it hold up the salaries which are due to the dedicated teachers who deserve what they’ve earned with the sweat of their brow,” it added.
“Since the teachers are not given even their mere salary which they totally deserve, they are democratically & legally right in their fight for justice,” the Team stated. “But, on the other hand, the students are losing their precious days.”
In all these, it questioned, “Is the government building the society or destroying it? Will the government of Nagaland be able to bear the responsibility if situation goes out of hand? Will the innocent people always bear all the brunt?”
As the SSA teachers “democratically agitate for justice against the unjust government,” the Team Metamorphosis stated it will extend its fullest cooperation till justice is delivered. The organization further urged the government to seriously consider the situation and release the salaries at the earliest “as many families have borrowed enough rice to feed the hungry children, many children schools fees still not paid besides hundreds of SSA students’ career hampered.” The younger generation, it asserted, “is totally fed up with the unjust practices of the corrupted govt. officials as well as others who are in the power chairs. Irrespective of tribe, clan and color, young Nagas shall strive for a just and corruption free society.”
