Dimapur, January 14 (MExN): The National Service Scheme (NSS) Nagaland team represented by Dimapur Government College and Immanuel College attended the North East NSS Festival 2016-17 at Guwahati from January 5 to 9. It was sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and organised by Gauhati University & Regional Directorate, NSS, Guwahati. Altogether, 30 NSS Volunteers from DGC and Immanuel College led by programme officers Mezhulhoulie Angami and Akutu Paireng participated in the Festival. The inaugural function was graced by the Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports of Assam and the closing ceremony was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University.
Beside academic sessions on Personality Development, Media awareness on NE India etc and daily physical exercises including yoga, cultural exchange programmes were held every day. The State NSS Team presented various cultural Dance and traditional folk song in the festival. This was stated in a press release issued by DGC, Assistant Professor, Mezhulhoulie Angami.
