Teams evenly poised at BN Mullik Championship

Chumukedima, November 11 (MExN): In the ongoing 65th B.N. Mullik All India Police Football Championship 2016, all the teams in the different Groups, except Group A, are evenly poised in the point tables with no clear winner emerging today.   On Thursday, defending champions Punjab Police from Group A became the first to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Championship being played at the Police Complex, Chumukedima.   On Friday, Tamil Nadu Police took on CISF to vie for the second position in Group A and it was the Tamil Nadu Police who came out on top as they won by a solitary goal.   In Group B, BSF tops the table with 6 points while Manipur Police, also with 6 points, trail behind by goal difference. In Group C, Assam Rifles clinched a win by a solitary goal over a spirited Sikkim Police today. With this win, Assam Rifles and Sikkim Police have 6 points each with one game remaining for both the teams.   Arunachal Pradesh Police overcame Madhya Pradesh in Group D by 3-0 while Odisha Police defeated Tripura Police by a similar margin in Group E.   Jammu and Kashmir Police narrowly clinched a winner against Gujarat Police by a solitary goal in Group F and tops the table with 9 points and are probably eyeing a qualification to the knock-out stage. Maharashtra Police overcame a competitive West Bengal Police in Group G by 1-0.   Delhi Police and Uttar Pradesh Police in Group H were locked in an evenly poised and exciting match with Delhi Police winning by a score of 2-1.   In the same Group, Meghalaya Police overcame Goa Police through a solitary goal in the dying minutes of the match.   November 11 fixtures Morning (8:00 am) Haryana vs Chhatisgarh Telangana vs Bihar Kerala vs Assam Jharkhand vs Meghalaya Afternoon (2:00 pm) Uttarakhand vs Lakhsadweep BSF vs Manipur Rajasthan vs Chandigarh Mizoram vs RPF
