Technology injection programme conducted

Dimapur, June 10 (MExN): A technology injection programme was conducted at Mutchi village of Chandel district of Manipur on June 8 in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NE Region, Manipur Centre, Imphal and KVK, Chandel, Manipur for making the Mithun owners aware of scientific animal husbandry practices as a part of the outreach programme of this Institute under the able guidance of Director, Dr. Chandan Rajkhowa.
A press note received here informed that a health camp was also organized for veterinary check-up of mithun by Dr. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Sr. Scientist, NRC on Mithun, Nagaland, and Dr. Amita and Dr. Dilip Hazra, Animal Health Scientists of KVK, Chandel.  Many farmers and mithun owners participated in this programme and brought their mithun from the adjoining villages. These mithun were given de-worming medications and other related veterinary care during this programme. Mineral mixture was distributed to the mithun owners for feeding to mithun.
This programme specifically meant for mithun was first of its kind held in the remote village of Manipur and the farmers came to know about providing scientific inputs to their mithun for better growth and health status.
Earlier, Dr. Mukherjee also had a detail discussion with Dr. Jeevan Singh, Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Manipur on June 7. They have planned to introduce the technology injection programmes of NRC-Mithun in a bigger way for benefit of mithun farmers in Manipur in near future.
