Tehok FC (Mon) today emerged the champion of the 7th edition of Late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC, Memorial Football Tournament 2023.
In the grand finale played at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, Tehok FC defeated Western Sumi Sports Association (WSSA) ((Niuland) 2-1 to lift the coveted trophy and received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.
Neisede and Samson netted a goal each for Tehok FC. WSSA gained a lone goal through Hevika.
Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera, SM, IG, IGAR (North) graced the grand finale and gave away prize to the winners.
He commended the spirit and dedication of all the participating teams, emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork in nurturing young talent. He also expressed his appreciation for the Assam Rifles and the Indian Army who made the tournament a resounding success.
The tournament, which commenced on November 1, witnessed 16 teams from across Nagaland. This tournament was organized by Assam Rifles under the aegis of Spear Corps.
