Morung Express News Mokokchung | October 4 Telongjem FC thrashed Dominion Club 4-0 in the league matches of the ongoing MDFA 2017 Trophy here at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Wednesday. Telongjem FC completely dominated the match as their superb midfield combined to display what was a flawless performance. The well-known Nyithong Magh of Telongjem FC became the first player to score a hat trick as he found the net in the 8th, 17th and 23rd minutes. The other goal for Telongjem FC came through Awangbo K Kouriniah in the 32nd minute thus sealing the outcome of the match in the first half. The second half also witnessed an exciting match. Telongjem FC went defensive as Dominion Club tried to redeem their stance, but to no avail. Telongjem FC, thorough today’s spectacular win has notched a mark as one of the toughest teams vying for the coveted title of MDFA Trophy 2017. Meanwhile, in other earlier matches, Intermingle Club and new entry Soccer Club played out a lackluster draw while SSS Yellow edged NU Lumami by a solitary goal. Intermingle Club players tried to score and made several attempts times and again, but as luck would have it, their attempts proved futile. As the final whistle blew, the match ended 0-0. SSS Yellow and NU Lumami were equally matched but it was Moatemsu (Jersey No 10) of SSS Yellow who proved decisive as his fine goal in the 65th minute secured SSS Yellow a win and a breather for the next round.
