New Delhi, December 30 (MExN): Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Government of Nagaland Temjen Imna Along received the ‘Minister of the Year Award’ jointly instituted by the Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), The Educational Standards and Testing Council of India (TESTCOIN) and the United Nations affiliated International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) at India International Centre, New Delhi. 

A press release received here stated that responding to the award and also presenting his views on the occasion of the national seminar on the ‘Creation of World Class Universities: Prospects, Constraints, Challenges and Dimensions,’ the Minister stressed on the need for ‘appropriate education and training that helps students in leading the nation in different areas of science and technology, industrial development, sustainable agriculture, environmental sciences, health, defense and preparing them to be merciful, compassionate and tolerant.’

Others present in the award function were President of IAEWP Chancellor Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr M Srinivas, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Gurugram, Prof PB Sharma, Vice Chancellor Jamia Hamdard University, Prof M Afsar Alam, Vice Chancellor, Haryana Skills University Prof Raj Nehru, Additional Chief Secretary and Chief Resident Commissioner of Nagaland, Jyoti Kalash, IAS, Dr SN Pandey, Chancellor, The Global Open University Nagaland, Ethiopian Government Representative Feven Kassahun and Director CIU and TESTCOIN Dr Utkarsh Sharma.

The Minister also released a 960 pages book on Nagaland by Dr Priyaranjan Trivedi.
