Temjen Toy launches ‘Naturally Nagaland’ in New Delhi

Dimapur, February 27 (MExN): With a view to provide an outlet for the products and produces from Nagaland in the national capital, Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy launched “Naturally Nagaland” at the Nagaland Sales Emporium in BKS Marg, New Delhi on February 27.


Interacting with media persons, Toy said that instead of only showcasing the Naga shawls, daos and other normal items, various departments have come together to provide a common outlet for the young people venturing into different products including food to sell their products.


Naming a few of the special items available, he said ‘kholar, honey, bamboo charcoal, dried fruits and also apparels and newly launched Naga fashion brand – Mongken’ are on sale.


Toy hoped that the emporium will now not only be a place for the people to see the products of Nagaland, but also buy every goods.


The venture is a collaborative effort of the Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, (NBDA), Nagaland Bee Keeping and Honey Mission (NBHM), Nagaland Bio-resource Mission (NBM), Myki under Women Resource Development, Development of Under Developed Areas in partnership with Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation, a PSU under Government of Nagaland, said Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department, Nagaland, Lithrongla G Chishi in her introductory remark.


Naturally Nagaland will be the outlet for the products including handloom and handicraft, traditional motifs and agricultural produces and Naga food items from the state, she said.


Chishi added that through this venture, the state government desires to provide a space to the Naga entrepreneurs to take their products beyond Nagaland, which was earlier not possible because of the state being landlocked. It will provide “the connect” to the Naga entrepreneurs, she said.


As per a press release from Publicity Committee for Naturally Nagaland, Chairman of NHHDC Miathou Krose, Mission Director of NBDA Imtirenla Jamir, Joint Director DUDA Anungla Phom, DRC Delhi Kethosituo Sekhose, Managing Director NHHDC Zakabo V Rotokha, Team Leader NBHM Khüvozoyi Vese along with other departments and officials were also present during the ceremonial inauguration.


The Nagaland Sales Emporium, New Delhi was given a facelift by Kharu Design Nagaland, added the release.
