Temporary NSCN (IM) camp ‘busted’ near Longting: AR 

Mon, April 28 (MExN): In a continuing effort to “check violation and enforce ceasefire ground rules”, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police through a joint operation “busted a temporary hideout of the NSCN (IM)” near Longting in Mon District of Nagaland”on April 26. A press release from Lt Col L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) on Tuesday maintained that based on a specific input regarding the setting up of a temporary hideout, the search operation was launched by the troops in the area.


“During the operation, a temporary hideout comprising of a living area with 8-10 beds and a kitchen was busted by the security forces. The troops also recovered rations, utensils and other ancillaries from the camp. The hideout has been destroyed in presence of police representative,” the statement said. The recovered items were handed over to the Tizit Police Station and a first information report (FIR) has been lodged for violation of ceasefire ground rules by NSCN (IM) for further investigations, it added.
