Tension erupts over border related issue at Old Ralan

Tensions flared at Old Ralan in Wokha District on Saturday morning when Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel halted a consignment from the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) that was en route for the installation of a gas station. The incident, which occurred around 9 AM, led to a standoff between security forces and local residents.

The situation intensified when members of the women's organization from the Ralan area began protesting against what they described as harassment by border forces and disruption of the installation process.

Unions from the Old Ralan area later arrived to help de-escalate the situation. The standoff was eventually resolved and the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Old Ralan along with Border Magistrate Tsentsungo Ngullie called for a meeting on Monday at the CRPF Rengmapani to further discuss the ongoing border dispute. Both border magistrates are expected to attend the meeting to seek a resolution to the issue.
