Kohima, August 17 (MExN): A Farmer’s Market was inaugurated at Tepfulomi village in Phek district on August 14 last. It was inaugurated by Pfukrulhou Koza, joint director (Rtd), Rural Development Department.
Koza thanked the rural development department for granting the project to Tepfulomi village during the financial year 2023-24. It was the first project undertaken by government in the newly recognised village, which attained formal recognition on November 4, 2022.
Koza urged upon the villagers to take pride, ownership and responsibility in managing and maintaining the market as it directly impacts their economy and livelihood. He also told the public to be proactive, positive and build rapport with the concerned department for all round development. He called upon the villagers to maintain unity and work in synergy with the government to attain the status of model village for sustainability and prosperity. He was also hopeful that the villagers will continue to work honestly in the footsteps of the pioneers.
Vekhrolo Koza, BDO, Pfütsero Block commended the successful and timely completion of the project. Lhouchinyi, VCC Khezhakeno and Lhoupelo Koza, VCC Tepfulomi also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Rasou Koza. KT Koza, deacon KCRC and A.Lhoupenyi Kevie, Vice Pastor TBC prayed for the programme.
