Terminate illegal appointees: CTAN

June 30 deadline given to Technical Education Department

Dimapur, June 8 (MExN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has demanded the termination of 23 “illegal appointees” made under the Directorate of Technical Education on or before June 30, 2022, through a press release issued by its Media Cell.

It listed the names on 12 lecturers, 8 demonstrators and 3 work superintendents who were appointed between the years 2016 and 2022, and demanded termination of their service while referencing an Office Memorandum dated June 6, 2016 issued by the Nagaland Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, as well as the standing ban on appointments on contract basis in the state.

The CTAN also asserted that it would not accept the recruitment done by Directorate of Technical Education through advertisements dated November 26, 2021 for the posts of Lecturers and Demonstrators.

“As per the department the contract appointment done on February 22 and 23, 2022 for the posts of 21 Lecturers and 12 demonstrators have already been requisitioned to NPSC but yet as on May 24, 2022, no requisition copy has reached the NPSC,” the release stated.

In this connection, the CTAN reminded the concerned department to “expedite the requisition process and let it reach the NPSC on or before June 30, 2022.”

With the expiry of the date, it will be compelled to file FIR against the appointing authorities in both the contentious appointments “for infringing the fundamental rights under the Indian Constitution for every educated Naga, just like the ones for Forester 1 in PCCF office,” the release stated.
