TYO & TVYO emerge as champions
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 23 (MExN): Tseminyu Youth Organisation (TYO) emerged as the men’s football of champions while Tseminyu Village Youth Organisation (TVYO) won the women’s volleyball event at the Tesophenyu Sporting Club Open Tournament which concluded on January 22.
The event was held under the theme ‘Together for Friendship’ with AZ Obed Magh, Senior Supervisor, Social Welfare Department as the special guest for the closing ceremony.
In the men’s football final, TYO defeated Tesophenyu Group Youth Organisation Tseminyu Town (TGYOT) with a solitary goal. United Brothers Tesophenyu emerged as the 2nd runner up. The award for the champions was sponsored by Er Jwenga Seb.
In the women's volleyball event, Tseminyu Village Youth Organisation clinched the championship beating Chunlikha Women. Tesophenyu Sporting Club Women finished as the 2nd runner up. The award for the winners in this event was sponsored by Er Chengato Kath.
All together 17 teams participated in both the events. The Club informed in a press note today that it will endeavour to make the tournament a biennial or triennial event for the Rengma youth.
Special guest for the closing ceremony, AZ Obed Magh in his address stated that opined that organising a big tournament is a challenging task. He however stated that if people come together with camaraderie, cooperation and coordination, most things can be accomplished.
The closing ceremony programme was compered by Soyhunlo Seb, General Secretary, TSC and Hishale Tep. P William Magh, Catechist, SPCCT invoked the opening prayer. Er Ruchuyhung Seb, Co-Convenor delivered welcome note. TSC Football Team-B in the person of Bensinlo Kemp & co presented a special number. Abraham Chung, Vice President TSC pronounced the vote of thanks.
