Tesophenyu village community multi-purpose building inaugurated

Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The inauguration programme of Tesophenyu village community multipurpose building was held on December 16 at Tesophenyu village with Alemla J Chishi, Project Director, DRDA Kohima as the special guest. 

Chishi appreciated the Tesophenyu Village Council (TVC) and BDO Chunlikha for the commendable job in completing grand community building. She encouraged them to continue working for the welfare of the villages.

The Project Director credited many visible signs of developmental works to RD fund especially to MGNREGA and also appealed the gathering to focus more on individual development as enough stress had been executed on physical infrastructures.

Reiterating on MGNREGA, the special guest categorically stressed on "Focus shifting to individual development rather than infrastructures." She added that "for reaping any fruits of progress and development of a village, transparency and accountability be maintained."

In addition, Chishi reminded the village councilors and community to put up signboards of schemes, auditing at village level, maintain proper records and non-pending of works. She further encouraged villagers that “unity is key to development" and one must avoid internal and petty issues in development of the village.

Er Levi Rengma, former parliamentary secretary for PWD (Housing) opined that completion of community building is a great achievement for the village as it will serve various purposes for the village community. He thanked village councilors and the public for their active role in making the community building a reality.

Chairperson of the programme was NR Magh, Chairman Tesophenyu Village Council (TVC). Obed Magh, Pastor TUBC invoked the dedicatory prayer. Welcome address was delivered by Honbu Tep, VDB Secretary TVC.

Agwalo Mesung, Head GB, TVC delivered words of gratitude. The programme was attended by Tesophenyu Group Officers' Forum (TGOF), Tesophenyu Group Women Union (TGWU), Tesophenyu Group Students' Union (TGSU), village leaders from Sewanu, Ziphenyu and New Tesophenyu, leaders from neighboring villages, former chairmen, youth members and public from Tesophenyu village.
