Testo College and St Joseph University men teams before the final match of the 4th Inter-College Basketball Tournament on February 9 which was hosted by Immanuel College Dimapur.
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 9 (MExN): Immanuel College Dimapur hosted the 4th Inter-College Basketball Tournament on February 8 & 9 at the college premises. Th. Sharatchandra Singh, Principal, Immanuel College kicked off the tournament.
A total of 6 men's team and 3 women's team from different colleges battled for the trophy. The opening day saw a series of competitive matches where all players put their best skills with zest and vigor electrifying the audience to reach the final, informed a press release issued by Convenor, Medial Cell, IMC.
In the final day, Tetso College, the defending champion of last year once again proved their consistent and defensive prowess by lifting the trophy in the men's category and St Joseph University, Chümoukedima won the runner up. In the women category, St Joseph University emerged as the champion defeating the host college. Besides this, Vikhotuonuo Valeria Vizo from St Joseph University and Bernabus Gurung from Tetso College were declared as the most valuable player in both women and men's category respectively.
The sports committee, Immanuel College organised the inter college basketball tournament with the objective of nurturing students according to their skills and to promote mutual respect with one another through sports.
