Kiphire, November 11 (MExN): Tethuyo Village was declared 'Model Village' under Kiphire district on November 9.
Kiren Rijiju Minister of State for Home Affairs, GOI, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet Colleagues, Advisors, Sanjay Kumar Joint Secretary GOI, HoDs, Administration, United Sangtam Likhum Pumji and Yimchunger Tribal Council during the visit to the model village, distributed various agricultural tools.
Tethuyo Village Council in a press release stated that the visit by “MoS and state government is 'historic' and will go down in the annals of Tethuyo Village as a red letter day and will remain an inspiration to the citizens of Technology Village.”
Rijiju, addressing the farmers urged the citizens to keep the spirit of unity for better development and assured to extend all help towards the development of the Village in days to come.
Rijiju also donated a sum of Rs. 10 lakhs to Tethuyo village for development of fisheries project in Village.
The press release also added that a representation was submitted to CM Neiphiu Rio for setting up of Tribal Museum cum Guest House and for setting up of Fisheries Training Institute. It mentioned that Rio assured the Council to look into the proposal.
