Tetseo Sisters performs at Bhopal
Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya Bhopal organised its 43rd Foundation day celebrations in museum premises on Friday. It was a 3 day celebration from March 8 to 10. On this occasion, Prof Sarit Kumar Chaudhuri, Director, IGRMS, presented the annual activities report 2018-19. Dilip Singh, ITS (Joint Director, IGRMS) gave the welcome speech.
In the evening cultural programmes ‘Purvottri – Cultural festival of North-Eastern states’ Tetseo Sisters from Nagaland commenced an hour long concert of Naga Folk Fusion Performances.
Chief Guest N Sridharan, Director, School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal in his address said, “Sangrahalaya with time has transformed this piece of land into space of culture. This museum keeps its deep penetration in the community and preserving the Indian culture. I have visited a lot of museums in the world but this is the first museum that makes the community aware of every activity and the people of the community consider this museum as the place of their ancestors and their second home”.
The evening took off with lighting of the 1001 wicks traditional lamp of Kerala Aal Vilakku at Veethi Sankul premises of Manav Sangrahalaya. Thereafter, a book exhibition based on literature of Northeast India was jointly inaugurated at library hall, IGRMS.
