Students participating in War Cry (Howling) Challenge as part of ‘Historia Fete: Reimagining the Untold Narratives’ organized by the Department of History, Tetso College on October 12.
Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): On October 12, the Department of History, Tetso College organized the annual history festival under the theme ‘Historia Fete: Reimagining the Untold Narratives’. The event was divided into two segments, formal and informal, according to a press release from the College.
The formal session begun with an invocation by Akali Sumi, Asst Professor, Department of History and sharing on the festival theme by Dr Eastrose Miachie, Asst Professor, Department of History. In the formal session, students showcased a traditional Angami folktale drama followed by a special musical performance and a quiz competition among the students, the release stated.
The informal session kicked off with a traditional Sümi Naga traditional dance followed by several fun filled performances and competitions. Performances included beat boxing, singing and dance by different students of the department. Competitions included war cry or howling challenge, stand-up comedy, and pork fat eating.
A special performance was given by Tetso alumnus VinikaYepthomi who is an artist under the Task Force of Music and Arts (TaFMA), Government of Nagaland, the release stated.
There were also various stalls that were set up by students of all three different semesters of the department. The fruitful and successful program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Eastrose Miachieo.
