The TGYO also extent its gratitude to all the NGO'S and individuals for donating generously to the Relief camp of Rengma Naga in Dimapur and in Assam. While extending our words of appreciation and gratitude, the TGYO also would like to present some queries which need to be reasoned out seriously.
The conflict began with the attack by KPLT on the Innocent civilian of Rengma Nagas. We the Rengma Nagas are not in a state of war fare but we are just defending our ancestral land. From day one till date the KPLT are targeting the innocent and armless Rengma Nagas, which is in fact an act of cowardice. Even in a war, the true and patriotic soldier never attacked the civilian. So whatever the KPLT are doing now is an act of terrorism, which need to be criticised by all peace loving people. So far it was the Rengma Nagas who had suffered untold miseries and hardship beyond human treatment. The Rengma Nagas’ property like houses, granaries, plantation and other properties had been devasted, more than six innocent civilian Rengma Nagas has also been killed in cold blood by the so called KPLT. In spite of all these suffering, so far neither the Assam nor Nagaland Government have provided the so called ex-gratia to the Rengma Nagas, who had been killed by KPLT .We do not support the action of NRHPF, retaliating by killing nine Karbi’s, whom they claim to be involved with KPLT. Yet what we are concerned here is that when Karbi’s are killed, both the Assam and Nagaland Government announces Ex-gratia but when the innocent Rengma Nagas were killed, no enquiries commission were set up by the two governments to arrest the culprit neither ex-gratia were provide to the victim families of Rengma Nagas, This one sided treatment on the part of the government will not bring peace but will further provoke the situation, The Nagaland government should also ask the Assam Government to arrest all the Karbi’s involved in terrorising the life of Rengma Nagas, there after equal punishment should be provide to the erring parties involved in committing crimes.
The TGYO also extend our appreciation to the Angami student Union for their wisdom of peace and harmony. And their initiative and struggle to maintain peace in their region, by declaring in media to give protection to the Karbi's living in Kohima districts As such it is our humble request to our esteemed ASU that while providing protection, the ASU should also be aware that no anti-social and illegal activities are carried out by the Karbi's in Kohima district, your action and contribution will be highly regarded by all.
