Th Muivah mourns passing of Tapan Bose

Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): General Secretary of the NSCN (IM), ThMuivah has expressed sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist and human rights activist Tapan K. Bose, describing him as a true friend of the Naga people.

In a condolence message, the NSCN (IM) leader paid tribute to Bose’s unwavering support for the Naga cause, highlighting his role in advocating for their rights despite immense challenges. “He was a statesman in the truest sense, a man of integrity who felt the sentiments of the Naga people and fearlessly championed our cause,” the message read.

He recalled Bose’s contributions to the Naga national movement, stating that his guidance and counsel had a profound impact. He also credited Bose for his support during a period of personal incarceration, noting that the activist played a crucial role in securing his release.

Muivah stated that Bose’s influence extended beyond borders, fostering friendships and helping build alliances that strengthened the advocacy of the rights of theNaga people on the global stage. “Today, we have lost not just an ally, but a dear friend whose guidance will be deeply missed,” the statement read, adding that Bose’s legacy of courage and principles would serve as an enduring inspiration for future generations.

On behalf of the Naga people, the NSCN leader extended heartfelt condolences to Bose’s family and friends, praying for strength and comfort in their time of grief. “May he rest in eternal peace,” the message concluded.
