Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): As an annual event, the hostels of Thahekhu village area came together at Salesian College of Higher Education on June 25 for the ‘Inter-Hostels Meet 2017.’
Out of the 6 hostels, 3 hostels could not participate in the meet, informed a press release from the Youth Director, Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur. The hostels which participated were Nongbri, St. Alphonsa, and Kids Care.
Around 100 participants took part in the event that had competitions in Solo and Group songs, Extempore and Well-prepared talks, and Dancing according to the tune etc. The out-door games were Passing on the Message, Calling out name, Decoration of Picture, and Treasure Hunt.
In the morning, the inaugural ceremony kicked off with the lighting of lamp and message from the chief guest Dr. Policarp Xalxo sdb, Principal of Salesian College of Higher Education, who underscored the need to use everyone’s potentials to the utmost.
The guest of honour, Fr. Christudoss, Youth Director of Salesian College of Higher Education gave away the winning trophy to the Champion, St. Alphonsa Hostel in the afternoon. Nongbri and Kids Care emerged first runner up and second runner up respectively. Fr. Christudoss in his speech emphasized on giving one’s best in everything, which he said is all that counts.
