Thahekhu Village-cum-Baptist Church concluded its three-day platinum jubilee celebration on a note of hope, underscoring faith, perseverance and spiritual renewal.
Delivering the final day sermon, Senior Pastor of TVBC, Rev Dr Yehevi Jimo, spoke on the theme “God of Generations: Hope.” Drawing from Hebrews 11:1, he said faith is “the substance of things hoped for,” reminding the congregation that hope is rooted in trust in God’s promises.
Citing biblical examples, Rev Dr Jimo reflected on the faith of Abraham and Sarah, who were blessed with a son, Isaac, in their old age, Abraham being over 100 and Sarah 90. He said their story illustrates how people of old remained steadfast in faith and focused on divine promises.
He also referred to Moses’ experience of God’s faithfulness and mercy, encouraging believers to remain steadfast in their spiritual journey.

Posing a question on life after the jubilee, he asked, “What are we looking for?” He said Christians are called to move forward with patience and perseverance, seeking long life, blessings, prosperity, wisdom, capable leadership, and a good name for future generations.
“We are looking ahead for change, and we are looking upwards to heaven,” he said.
Rev Dr Jimo emphasised that obedience, integrity, and humility are essential to receiving God’s blessings. He urged the people of Thahekhu to introspect, confess their sins, and give thanks for God’s mercy while seeking His continued guidance.
The concluding session was chaired by Associate Pastor of TVBC, Jetovi Chishi. Vote of thanks was delivered by Chairman of the Board of Deacons, K Ahovi Ayemi, while the invocation was pronounced by Home Evangelist Aghali T Zhimo. The celebration ended with a special closing ceremony.
