The Burden of unemployment

The greatest problem existing in the state is the burden of educated unemployment. Unemployment has driven many youths into anti-social activities in many parts of the town in order to meet their desires or wants.

However, in Tuensang some youths have formed a group called ‘Retrieve’ i.e. a group of self employed people trying to earn their daily meals without depending on their parents. The ECS Society is taking initiatives to set up various care cultures in and around Tuensang especially to uplift the rural youths which is appreciative. However, we also find most of the backward areas still deplorable. More than 60 percent of the youth are school drop-outs owing to various pathetic reasons.

Besides, job opportunities for the down trodden youths have been neglected from various angles. Our society is now mostly dominated or manipulated by the selfish greedy seekers, where party- ism, favoritism, bribery, all  hamper the growth of youth development even at the grassroots level. Their demands or needs are mostly denied and ignored by some bureaucrats.

In some ways, we are living in a world of leaderships. A nation is recognized because of true leaders and the destiny and future of the youth depends on the commitment of a leader. A true leader or bureaucrat must be a visionary, for tomorrow belongs to those who can see today.

The ENSF’s demand for 25 percent of job quota reservation for the youths of the four districts to develop various infrastructures is also another occurrence of educated unemployed problems.

Thus, to become a successful society, our leaders and elders should recognize the rights of the youth and take a bold step to face the realities of life.

Above all, we should lift one another be treated equal so as to eradicating unemployment problem in the state.
