‘The India Blessing’ premiers in YouTube

Making a mark in the Christian music and worship scene in the country, over 22 worship leaders, artists, pastors, church leaders and fathers of the worship movement came together to sing on ‘The India Blessing.’

The song premiered on August 8 at 8:00 pm on Red Sea Films' YouTube channel and featured worshippers representing over a dozen different languages and states spanning the length and breadth of India.

‘The India Blessing’ is based on ‘The Blessing’, a song by Elevation Worship (ft Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes) that has taken over the Christian world and inspired thousands of covers from almost every nation and language!

Though there were many versions from all across India, the goal for Red Sea Films was to bring the voices of the nation together to release a blessing as one united church. They organised a YouTube Live with the featured artists to spread the word about the premiere and to share the vision behind this endeavour.

The church leaders shared their excitement to witness something like this happening, a collaboration of epic proportions, a crossover happening across denominations, organizations and languages. There was much honour and grace with which all of them came together to collaborate on this project.

Anand Paul from Red Sea Films said, “The Lord commands His blessing where there is unity, and we are so grateful that each of you said yes to collaborate with no expectations or agenda, but to just honour the Lord and bless the nation together.”

Giftson Durai, who was the music producer for the Tamil cover of the Blessing, Unakkagave Irukkindrar, also produced the track for the India Blessing and worked his magic into a song that could easily become the anthem for this season and for what God is doing across the church of India.

Punjabi, Oriya, Telugu, Tamil, Nagamese, Malayalam, Kannada, Gujarati, Bangla, Marathi and Urdu were the languages included, apart from Hindi and English.

Allen Ganta, Amazing Grace Cruz, Amit Kamble, Bonny Andrews, Cameron Mendes, Deepika Kotecha, Gersson Edinbaro, Immanuel Henry, Kaushik Dasgupta, Nehemiah Kulothungan, Prakruthi Angelina, Prince Mulla, Priyanka Raj, Rachel Francis, Ray William, Romika Masih, Sam Alex, Sheldon Bangera, Shelley Reddy, Tali Angh and Thanga Selvam, were some of the well-known church leaders and artists featured on the song.

Since the days of its premier, the song has garnered over 38,365 views.
