After many centuries ago, the Angami village of Chumukedima was in its existence and Britishers came and found it and made friendship with him.
And during 1840, the then Assistant Commissioner of Britishers Mr. Grange and two GB or Village Chiefs from Chumukedima Village came to the Britishers camp at Nagaon and entered into an agreement on 24th January 1840, where 11 (eleven) prisoners were released and put a boundary of Chumukedima at Mohoon-De-joa next to present Manja-Tinali
(Assam).
To speak the truth that the upper Angamis used to come down to Kuda area specially from Khonoma, Mezoma, Kohima, Jotsoma etc. the Angamis used to collect taxes from Bokulia and up to North Cachar (NC) Hills from non-Nagas, they covered up to Silhet for marketing now Silhet is known as Bangladesh. However, some of the upper Angamis came and settled in Kuda area presently known as Dimapur started from 1941-42 and the following upper Angami leaders who have come first and constructed their houses in Kuda area were listed here who have settled in Kuda area before the India attained her Independent in 1947.
List of the upper Angamis who come to the land of Chumukedima forefathers area as Kuda started from 1941:-
