‘There is a big future for Chümoukedima dist’

Chümoukedima, February 4 (MExN): NDPP State Treasurer, Dr John Murry opined that “Chümoukedima town cannot remain as a Town council” and felt that “it deserves to be a Municipal Corporation.”
He said this during the thanksgiving service held in honour of Longshi Kikon, Councilor Government nominee, Chümoukedima Town Council, at LUC Hall Chümoukedima Town on February 3, stated a DIPR report.
He expressed optimism that the time will come very soon when Chümoukedima Town Council will be converted into a municipality. He was of the view that “Government is already in the process” and was hopeful that the responsible members, councillors and all the different tribe leaders of Chümoukedima town are working towards it.
Dubbing Chümoukedima district as miniature Nagaland with the presence of all the tribes of Nagaland including the South Nagas, he observed, “there is a big future for Chümoukedima district.”
Government nominee Councillor, CTC, Longshi Kikon sought the prayers, cooperation and guidance of all the intellectuals, elders and one and all as he takes on the new mantle to serve the people.
