Peren, February 4 (MExN): The Zeliang Peoples’ Organization Nagaland (ZPO(N)) today claimed that the statement of Zeliang Elders’ Forum published under the headline ‘Zeliang elders demand immediate resignation of CM’ on February 4 “was politically motivated and an attempt to join the bandwagon of the group who are trying to dethrone TR Zeliang from his chair.”
Condemning the statement, a press release from Kiezen Zeliang, President, ZPO (N) said that there is no such organization as Zeliang Elders’ Forum and that “Itingtiebe Siang who claims himself to be the Convener of the Forum is known by all his community people as an illiterate and ignorant elder who do not possess any capacity of heading such kind of organization.”
“It is clear from the writings that Itingtiebe Siang’s name has been used once again by people who are using every means to dethrone the present CM from his chair,” ZPO (N) added.
Though acknowledging that every individual is entitled to their own opinion, ZPO (N) warned that “any individual taking the name of any such non-existent self styled Zeliang organization shall be responsible for his own action in case of any dire consequences.”
