Therie’s statement ‘totally misleading, false’ – NPF

KOHIMA, JUNE 24 (MExN): Hitting out at the suspended MLA for the continuous statements which are “totally misleading, false and without any iota of truth”, the NPF today said that Therie’s allegations could only be described as being made by a person who was not in a right frame of mind. The NPF in a press released issued by its General Secretary, Dr. Kath, stated that it was not upto a suspended MLA to judge a government or its performance but that the  judgment was left for the people. The party added that if Therie had some understanding of reality, he would realize that the Government under the Chief Minister enjoyed mass support which could be seen in the repose of the people all over Nagaland and reflected in the local media. The NPF advised Therie, as a politician, to be in touch with the people and not just attend closed door meetings and issue statements without knowing what is going on around him.

The NPF lambasted Therie for calling other MLAs as defectors saying that he should first realize who he is before calling others names. Detailing Therie’s antics leading to his expulsion from the Congress ministry for his indiscipline and anti-party activities and the subsequent allegations against the Congress even to the extent of calling its chief minister as “shameless” in the floor of the Assembly, the NPF said that he was under suspension under the NPF banner.

They further accused him of hobnobbing with the opposition Congress having himself said that he “is basically a Congressman and added that such an inconsistent political career-graph within a short period of time would make the public know how immature a politician Therie is, continuing that it is nothing but a case of consuming one’s own vomit time and again.”

The NPF also alleged that Therie and “his suspended cahoots” had issued minutes of their meeting discussion and proceedings under their signature in which the National workers were described as “insurgents”, “cessationist” and “mafia goon”.

They maintained that such statement had demeaned the Naga issue and reflected the political movement in the most inappropriate manner. The party also said that Therie, refusing to accept any other argument and had repeatedly stated that the factional clashes are law and order problem at a time when even the Government of India has accepted the Naga issue as a political problem

The press release further said that Therie and Z. Obed have successfully managed to make a fool of themselves in the eyes of the whole State with no convincing answers for teir recklessness. It stated that they were now resigned to self confinement and their misleading statements in hopes to convince the people were only managing to demean themselves and destroy their own reputations.
