Thirty graduate during 21st UCTM convocation

Dimapur, April 29 (MExN): The United College of Theology and Missions (UCTM) during its 21st Convocation Exercise on April 25 conferred 30 students with degrees and certificates – 20 students received Master of Divinity Certificate under ATA, eight students was awarded with Bachelor of Theology under IIICS, one student received Diploma in Certificate and Short Term Basic Orientation.  

Principal Award (Academic Award) was given to Chiepe-ü Mero in M. Div. and Thokthai Gangsa in B.Th. in recognition of their overall academic performance. President Award was handed to Chiepe-ü Mero for the Best Thesis; D. Haralu Award was given to C. Pongmak for showing seriousness in Practical ministry and burden for soul winning. Student of the Year Award was given to Y. Denjei Phom. Various departmental awards were given to students who scored highest in each department.  

Speaking as guest speaker, Rev. Achu Chang, Executive Secretary of Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen said that God looks to a willing heart, use willing men and women but the battle belongs to God. “Our churches are just singing church but not reading church,” Rev. Chang observed while reminding the graduates, “When you go to mission field you must remember, if it is His will to be in the mission field it is His bill. He is responsible to provide our needs and take care of His workers.” Graduation service was led by Rev. Dr. Ashong Serto, welcome address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, scripture reading and prayer was offered by Rev. Dr. Toshi Ao. Speech on behalf of the graduating students was delivered by Kuviete-o Ritse, male voice was presented by Police Church Chumukedima, and choir piece was presented by UCTM Choir.  

Rev. Manen, pastor, 1st NAP Baptist Church Chumukedima offered the commissioning prayer, while Board chairman Rev. Dr. Tzudir said the prayer of blessing for the interim principal Rev. Dr. Ashong Serto.
