Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The Assam Rifles has apprehended three individuals along with illegal arms and IMFL from “general area” in 4th Mile, Dimapur on July 13.
According to a press release issued by PRO, HQ IGAR (N), the operation was “as part of the ongoing crackdown by security forces to prevent illegal activities.”
The official release stated that based on “specific intelligence” regarding illegal activities, the security forces along with Police representative launched an operation and apprehended Vikheho Assumi, Yazaka Labo and Kakivi Assumi.
The team recovered one 7.65mm Pistol with mag, one point 22mm Rifles with mag, one Chinese Hand Grenade, five 7.65mm live amn, two point 22mm live amn, 15 cases of Imperial Blue Whisky, 128 cases of Mc Dowel Rum and amounting approx Rs 7,94,000 and Rs 6,61,740 in cash and other “incriminating materials.”
“The apprehended individuals with recovered items were handed over to Diphupar police station for further investigation,” the release added.
