DIMAPUR, MARCH 15 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has informed that on March 14 evening; three GPRN/NSCN members were arrested by Khaplang members at Mon Town and brutally killed. “Lieut. Pawang hailing from Totok village, Lieut. Wangkem, hailing from Chui Village and Corporal Manshong, hailing from Chui-Goching village became victims”, stated a press note from the MIP. Pointing out that “these precious sons of the soil committed themselves to the task of rebuilding the Naga Nation”, it stated that “their valiant sacrifices shall not go in vain”.
“This serious provocation, invalidating all positive goodwill and understanding must be seriously viewed. Those who walked away from the Naga reconciliation Process have no moral right to question the integrity of GPRN/NSCN. What is to be done against these elements shall be initiated. It is sheer stupidity to expect peace and reconciliation from wayward men”, stated the press note.
With regard to the 14th March 2012 incident, the press note informed that the public in Zunheboto town repeatedly appealed to GPRN/NSCN authorities about the high handedness and harassment meted out to innocent public by “rogue K gang members on a regular basis”. “On 14th Shikato Achumi, the so-called K group’s vice chairman of Zunheboto was forcefully demanding money from a shop. He could have been an easy target however, Naga Army simply fired shots in the air to let him know his threats and harassments must stop”, the press note stated.
