Morung Express News Dimapur | May 2 A 9 year-old girl was killed in a suspected accidental firing at Jalukie town on the evening of May 1. The Peren police said that the tragic incident occurred at her home when she was playing with her 3 year-old brother. As per the preliminary inquiry, the police said that the boy accidentally fired a loaded .22 rifle belonging to the minors’ father. At the time, the parents were reportedly in the kitchen cooking dinner. The police said that the bullet hit the girl on the chest fatally wounding her. The girl was rushed to a medical nursing home at Jalukie from where she was referred to Dimapur. Stating that she succumbed to the wound while arrangement was being made to move her to Dimapur, the Peren police said that inquiry was still on.
