MLA & NPF Legislature Party leader Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu today stated that culture is not only about traditional dresses, songs and dances but “it is also about our habits, our way of living and dealing with things that surrounds us every day.”

Addressing the 33rd Mütsalemi Cultural Day on January 9 under the theme “Culture is your identity” at Miitsale village in Phek district, Azo stated that the true culture of Nagas is God fearing, honesty and hardworking “which we have already lost it long back, to which the recently concluded election is a living testimony which is truly sad indeed, we have become hypocrites.”

“We must realise our mistakes and regret and repent for the same and take corrective measures or else Nagas will be doomed,” Azo said. We have many things to learn from our Mizo brothers and sisters, he said.

Azo also stated that time has come for the Nagas to retrospect and introspect “our lives as to how we really live and take corrective measures.” We also need to live a true Christian life and put God first in everything we do and fight for our rights which needs to be passed on to the next generation or posterity will blame us, he said.

“As of today, which includes me, we have become liars, cheaters, betrayers," Azo said adding that 90% of the Nagas are money mongers and looking for materialistic development alone and not working for the welfare of its people.

Zhopra Vero, Kedallo NNC/FGN also spoke on the occasion. Kiinekhoyi Chizo and Civozo Vero chaired the first and second session respectively while vote of thanks was proposed by Vevokhuyi Lohe.
