Time to wind up ‘fruitless’ talks – NSCN-K

Dimapur, Dec 9 (MExN): The NSCN-K wants that the ongoing peace talks between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM should wind up because the last ten years have been fruitless. The GoI instead should now ‘tame’ the NSCN-IM, because it has taken advantage of the ceasefire to step up killings and extortions, an NSCN-K MIP release opined.

Stating that the talks for the last ten years have been fruitless, the NSCN-K opines that if the GoI wants to have a political dialogue with the Nagas it should wind up the talks and check the activities of the rival faction who have now taken advantage of the ceasefire to step up crime. The NSCN-IM has “jumped” the ground rules and taken full liberty by resorting to killings, intimidations and extortions and they should be tamed and any help to them by the Nagaland government “to fight against the NSCN” should be stopped, the MIP release stated.

The NSCN-K has also, at its joint council meeting December 8, reaffirmed its previous decision that the “present Naga Hoho, NSF and NPMHR officials collaborating with I-K terrorists will be treated as traitors and terrorists”, the release informed. In regard to the assault of “self-styled VP of so-called Naga Hoho” Keviletuo Kiewhuo, the NSCN-K asserts that it has been well ascertained by all “those gangsters” that they are none other than “I-K terrorists”.

In regard to NISC and NSG, the NSCN-K MIP release also pointed out that a ‘foreigner’ like Timothy Tangkhul has become a Korean citizen by marriage and he has no right to interfere in Naga issues without knowing “who is who” and “what is what”.
