Tizit, July 11 (MExN): A joint meeting on the War Against Drugs, comprising civil society organisations, representatives of villages under Tizit Sub-division led by the Council Chairman, church leaders, and government officials, was held at KU Office Tizit HQ on July 10.
As per a DIPR report, Deputy Commandant 6th NAP Tizit, Chubah Chang in a brief speech said, “Catching and identifying drug peddlers and abusers was just the first step, as rehabilitation and bringing them into the mainstream is an important process where not only the authorities and families, but civil societies and organizations can play a vital role.”
He urged the gathering to seek legal opinions and technical advice while tackling such cases and also assured all possible help.
KU Tizit Unit President while highlighting the challenges and responsibilities of the drug menace in the area, called for collective effort and sincere implementation of the resolutions adopted during the meeting. He also appealed to all government employees posted in the Sub-division to be present in the station and assured cooperation and support while discharging their duties.
The President of Tizit Area Students Union, President KNSK Tizit Unit, Inspector, Excise Department, Tizit Sub-division, Chairman, Tizit Area Chairman's Association, and President of GB’s Association Tizit Area also gave short speeches.
Other highlights of the meeting included the adoption and dedication of resolutions and the declaration of the War Against Drugs. The meeting was conducted under the chairmanship of General Secretary KU Tizit Unit, B Wangkeap Konyak.
