Kohima
Mon District has always been my favorite destination. Despite an average 10 hours of journey to perform, it never tires me to visit Mon to this day. Having observed its rich landscape, productivity and strategic location, I as a layman am convinced that if given the desired support and development infrastructure, Mon District has the potential to outshine the rest. Among all the charm, the Tizit Tea caught the attention of a self-styled connoussieur like me. It started with my official visit to 6th NAP Battalion Tizit in the year 2022. The then Commandant Shri Vizhoto Hibo, IPS gifted me few packets of Tizit Tea which I accepted frankly without much of an excitement. However, on reaching home at Kohima, I felt as if I had discovered a Goldmine. It has now put to rest, all my vain efforts of trying to find an affordable yet good quality tea from far off and neighbouring states and from a plethora of tea brands available in the market. Ranging from my colleagues in office to my villagers in Mao, Manipur, I learnt that there is no substitute to Tizit Tea users. It clearly speaks of its originality, Geographical Indication factor and richness in quality. I fondly remember the time when I later took my family to the Langto Tea Industry, Shangsa Village, Tizit where Tizit Tea is manufactured. At one time, availability was limited in Kohima and I had to place orders with Konyak Baptist Church Women Society, Kohima. However, it is encouraging, to find that it is now available in number of colony shops and with some roadside vendors (Near United Traders, Razhü Point). I firmly believe that drinking every cup of Tizit Tea could not only help contribute to the wellbeing of our health but also in promotion of our Local Industries.
